Healthy Children Website

Healthychildren.org provides practical information on a variety of topics of interest to parents and caregivers. Some topics include reading with children, safety in the sun, choosing camps, good nutrition, and teen dating issues. Information is provided in English and Spanish. Families can access information via podcasts, e-magazines, webinars, and newsletters.

Trauma Responsive Educational Practices Project (TREP)

The University of Chicago TREP Project works to develop the individual and organizational capacity of educators and schools serving children growing up in neighborhoods that have high levels of toxic stress. TREP provides a virtual learning community and other resources to help educators increase their knowledge and skills in caring for students who are chronically exposed to stress.

Spotlight Organization

CASA of Will County trains volunteers to act as a child’s voice in the courts. CASA volunteers work to ensure that abused and neglected children are placed in safe and secure foster homes. The CASA volunteers help to navigate the juvenile court system and make sure that the child’s needs are being met. For more information see the Volunteer FAQ.
