A Happy Valley man who prostituted a 13-year-old girl in Oregon and Washington was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced today.
According to U.S. Attorney Karin J. Immergut, Troy Lamont Scurry, 39, met the girl in 2003 and persuaded her to begin working for him in Portland.
He gave the girl a list of prices to charge for various sex acts and described ways to detect undercover officers.
In 2004, he brought her to Washington state, where he again acted as her pimp.
"The prostitution of a minor, by both her pimp as well as the 'johns' out there taking
advantage of her, is a crime that offends all standards of civility," Immergut said.
The original indictment charged Scurry with seven counts related to three victims.
The case was investigated by the Oregon Human Trafficking Task Force, FBI, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and Portland Police Bureau.
