Police recover 42 stolen artifacts

Tourism and monuments police restored 42 artifacts that date back to the Pharaonic and Islamic eras. The artifacts were in the possession of a monument trader in Minya Governorate.

Police were informed that a 29-year-old and a 62-year-old with a criminal record had the artifacts with the intent of trading them.

Police attacked a house where the suspects were believed to be staying. The first suspect was not there at the time, while the other was arrested and the artifacts seized. The suspect admitted to being in possession of the artifacts for trading purposes. The prosecution was notified to conduct investigations, and security efforts have been intensified to find and arrest the fugitive suspect.
