Poppy Barley will be stepping into a new flagship store at Southgate Mall this August.

The Edmonton-based company sells men’s and women’s leather footwear and accessories designed in Canada and ethically crafted in Mexico. It was founded by Edmonton sisters Justine and Kendall Barber in 2012. Currently products are sold out of a Whyte Avenue showroom, online and through temporary pop-up shops in major Canadian cities.

The 1,000-square-foot store will feature expanded product inventory, as well as a made-to-measure lounge.

Poppy Barley plans to offer select leather choices and product styles that will only be available at the Southgate location. For the first time, the company will offer monogramming to customers,  allowing them to further personalize their leather goods.

Southgate was chosen after a year of looking at different spaces around Edmonton, said Kendall Barber. She said Southgate was really “creative and flexible” in meeting the needs of a local, independent retailer.

“We’re excited to make Poppy Barely even more accessible,” she said.
