With back to back fashion weeks it’s not a surprise that we just can’t get over all of the innovative creations that adorned the runways of New York and London fashion weeks. With two more (Milan then Paris) left to go, LUXE Models are excited to see what more is on offer from the world’s best!

Burberry

As one of the most highly anticipated shows of London Fashion Week, it’s no wonder in-between the mega crowds, countless famous faces were in attendance! Creative director, Christopher Bailey, paid homage to the late sculptor Henry Moore using him as inspo for the edgy collection. The show, marking the 40th anniversary of the fashion house, was held at Makers House using Moore’s artwork as a backdrop accompanied by Anna Calvi’s harmonious voice.

 The collection

Contrary to the traditional style of Burberry, the collection featured many unisex designs. Knits kick-started the show, showcasing a range of asymmetrical cable knit designs, for both men and women declaring that knits will certainly be on trend for the foreseeable (stock up now!). Burberry’s iconic trench coat had been modernised this season; designed in beige and sky blue, with oversized collars and long draped sleeves – so chic! Not only used as a backdrop for the show, Henry Moore’s artwork was incorporated onto the designs themselves. His arty prints and cartoons were printed onto shirts and sweatshirts with slightly brighter colours, bringing the creations to life! Diverging from tradition once more, Burberry shocked with denim designs (a rare sight!) creating wide-leg jeans for women and a workwear-like jacket and pants combo for men.

Celeb spotting

The Burberry show is known for its troupe of celebrity faces. Amongst this year’s show, Burberry veterans Naomi Campbell and Lily Donaldson swapped the runway for the front row. Alongside were famous faces such as: Penelope Cruz, Jourdan Dunn, Suki Waterhouse and Burberry newcomer Iris Law. The queen of fashion, Anna Wintour, joined the front row in her statement fur coat and sunglasses. As the editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988 Anna certainly knows her haute couture from her fashion faux pas…

The rest of fashion week…

Fashion week consists of back to back shows; with a gargantuan amount of makeup, an epic amount of dress making pins and more hair products used than for Justin Bieber’s daily routine – we divulge into what you might have missed from fashion week. Topshop Unique sounds like a pretty familiar show, right? Correct. That is because (yes, you’re right) the high-street brand, we all love so dearly, is behind the collection. Although not as affordable as Topshop’s high street offerings, it is definitely on the lower end of the other power-houses present at fashion week.
