Executive Forum for Leading Internationalization to Bridge the Local and Global
October 23, 2017

College and university presidents, chief academic officers, and senior international officers interested in connecting global learning with local resources and community stakeholders should register now for the Executive Forum for Leading Internationalization, an annual meeting to explore strategies for advancing campus internationalization. The registration deadline is Oct. 31.

Themed “Bridging the Local and the Global," the Forum will take place Nov. 6 in Washington, DC. Participants will explore the guiding question: How can U.S. higher education institutions communicate their regional relevance while at the same time prove they are more globally oriented and internationally connected?

The Forum will feature a keynote speaker, panel presentations and group discussions on the benefits of internationalization to local economic and social development—and how institutional leaders communicate those benefits to multiple stakeholders. The tentative agenda can be found here.

Confirmed panelists include:

  • Andrew Gordon, CEO & founder, Diversity Abroad;
  • Anne Simmons-Benton, executive director, Office of International Development, Arizona State University;
  • Clarence Wyatt, president, Monmouth College (NJ);
  • Hilary Landorf, director, Office of Global Learning Initiatives, Florida International University;
  • Samory Pruitt, vice president, Division of Community Affairs, University of Alabama;
  • Sharon Nagy, vice provost for global engagement, Clemson University (SC); and
  • Virginia Rowthorn, executive director, University of Maryland, Baltimore Center for Global Education.

The closing keynote will feature a conversation between Paaige K. Turner, principal associate at Communication Resource Associates, LLC, and adjunct professor at Webster University (MO), and Sue Henderson, president of New Jersey City University.

Institutional teams of up to three individuals are encouraged to attend. Click here to register.
