The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part Teaser Trailer

Coming to you February 2019, The Lego Movie 2 has two new directors taking the place of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, although Lord and Miller wrote the screenplay for this sequel.

Director Mike Mitchell previously directed Sky High, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water, and most recently, Trolls which came out in 2016.

Co-Director Trisha Gum takes on The Lego Movie 2 after years working in the art department in stop-motion shows such as Robot Chicken. She transitioned to story and direction in 2010, and has since directed several shorts, later working as head of story on The Lego Batman Movie in 2017.

Together the two new heads for the film bring us into a Mad Max-like future for the heroes from The Lego Movie. Emmet and Lucy return to face a new threat, and many of our heroes are kidnapped, including Lucy, Batman, Unikitty, Metal Beard and Benny (1980-Something Space Guy). We’ll have to wait to see who else shows up in the seemingly endless cast of characters who appeared in the first Lego Movie.
