Pelvic, low back or hip pain can all be caused by weakness and poor recruitment of the pelvic floor musculature. Weak pelvic floor muscles can also lead to incontinence or prolapse. Loss of pelvic floor muscle strength can occur during pregnancy and may be problematic during the post-partum phase as well.

If you are experiencing issues with Pelvic floor dysfunction, we recommend booking an assessment with one of our Pelvic Physiotherapists who will conduct a thorough exam and will help you get the answers you need to start you on the road to recovery.

In this video, our highly skilled Pilates instructor, Alisha McLardy, will guide you through some verbal cues that you can follow along so that you may learn to recruit your pelvic floor muscles.
