Trollhaugen Hosting Grand Opening For Zip Line Courses

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As the weather gets cooler we all start thinking about those winter sports like skiing and snowboarding.

But one ski hill just north of the Twin Cities is offering a new option for winter fun. Trollhaugen Ski Area in Dresser, Wis., has a new feature that shows you that it's no longer just the typical ski hill. Most people usually wait until the snow flies to head to the hill, but Trollhaugen is now offering a new aerial activity in zip lining.

It's not every day that you can rush through the treetops of western Wisconsin. The new zip line park takes you to the top of the tubing hill. It offers a look at beautiful scenery while feeling like you're taking a risk, but in the safest way possible.

If the tubing hill line is too tame, there are four other courses weave through the treetops. Suspended 50 feet above the ground, speeds can reach up to 30 miles per hour.

Trollhaugen is known for it's speedy slopes, but now anyone can experience that thrill without their feet ever hitting the ground.

The zip line's park grand opening is Saturday. It's $30 for the line down the tubing hill and $45 for the line through the trees. That's the one that lasts a couple of hours.
