O2 has today (October 12) suffered another network outage in the UK, involving some of its customers reportedly being left without any of their services.

Customers of the mobile network took to Twitter to complain about their lack of service, including the inability to send texts, make calls or access the web.

In a statement issued just before 8pm on Friday evening, O2 confirmed the issues had affected around 10% of UK customers and that the fault responsible had been fixed.

"We've been updating this afternoon on twitter and facebook about the fact around 10% of our customers, in some areas, have been unable to make or receive calls, or use data. The good news? The cause of the fault was identified and fixed this afternoon," the company said.

"The bad news? Due to high phone use during the 'rush hour' early evening period, customers may also experience intermittent performance as full service comes back for everyone.

"We would like to reassure those customers still affected that we are working as hard as we can to restore normal service to everyone. We'll update further if there are further developments."

O2 offered all its customers compensation in July after many UK users of its network were left without mobile data, texts and calls for more than 24 hours.

The latest issues appeared to be less widespread, but unhappy customers directed complaints towards the network's Twitter and Facebook pages.

Writing on Twitter, one O2 user posted: "O2... you're having a shocking year. Seriously - I now feel unless you buy us all iPhone 5s immediately, we will leave."
