This European seminar built on experiences and lessons from putting in practice Community-led Local Development (CLLD) as supported under Rural Development (EAFRD), Fisheries (EMFF), Regional Development (ERDF) and Social (ESF) Funds.
The event discussed how CLLD is applied in rural and coastal areas, how it can be used to promote inclusion, as well as its new urban and social dimensions. It specifically focused on how to better use European programmes and funds in supporting local capacity building and bottom-up local initiatives.
The seminar involved for CLLD actors from local, regional, national and EU levels, as well as relevant NGOs. It provided opportunities for peer learning, discussion and exchange among Local Action Groups, CLLD networks, experts, Managing Authorities and European Commission services.
This was the third in a series of CLLD seminars organised jointly by the four EU Commission Directorates-General managing the European Structural and Investment Funds, following one in Båstad, Sweden (December 2016) and one in Edinburgh, UK (December, 2015).
