It seems like obtaining everything you want in life isn't always what one would expect. After smashing his goal in life a little ahead of schedule, Cyrus is a little disappointed and slightly frustrated. So he heads back to his roots. Back to his family. Back to the swamp.

    This was unique insta love romance. It is short and no epilogue. It is part of a series but romance standalone and other than meeting characters nobody interferes with the couples love story.

    It goes from zero to sixty from almost the get go. Hero is self made millionaire coming back to his roots and buys heroine's home. Except her father and brother, who really did appear to be hillbilly version of Dumb and Dumber, sold land without heroine's knowledge. There is a reason for it but really dumb one.

    So as you can imagine the attraction is instant except heroine is one tough chick (wrestles alligators) and doesn't believe hero really wants her because of scars she has on her face. The good thing is hero is determined to claim heroine and gets time to spend with her when they chase down her wayward brother to Las Vegas. The trip was full of getting to know you, sexual loving and revelations. Because when heroine realizes hero's secret there will be hell to pay.

    I enjoyed it. But game it 4 stars because I don't get the causing. Is that how swamp land people talk or was the author trying keep language clean in a way. Just took getting used to it but it added fun/light element to the story. Safe read. No cheating. Loyal hero. Hero was heroine's one and only. Steamy read. Scored it for free at Kindle Amazon.

    Quick novella that will leave you wanting to devour the whole series as quickly as each book is released. This is Cyrus's story and after leaving home to make something of his self he ends up doing it faster than he thought possible and it has him wanting something but what that is he is not too sure so he goes back home to the swamp to try an figure out what's next. Bertie is a spitfire who runs her own company along with taking care of her pa and somehow keeping her wayward brother in some sort of line. Too bad or is it that her brother does something that bring Cyrus to her doorstep. Cyrus knows that Bertie it for him and will do whatever it takes to make her see it too. I enjoyed this book and can't wait for the rest of the siblings to fall.

    This is definitely a real change from Esther's MC books, but I still enjoyed it! It is definitely still Esther's quality of writing in the story-line. It flowed nicely and wasn't choppy or didn't stall out. The characters were very well developed which is not always accomplished in a shorter story like this, but I think Esther did a very nice job and definitely succeeded in making it work. She has the same strong bones in this story, she just added different condiments! It may be confusing for those that have never experienced the ways of life and the dialog of those the reside in the swamps. So if the dialog or some of the words confuse you, just look them up. But I personally think that the story is written well enough that you can pretty much guess what some of the words or phrases are just by reading it. I certainly look forward to reading more from Esther in this series as well as her MC series!

It's insta everything and I loved it - especially the "non swearing"! This author is quickly becoming a go to for me as each book offers something a little different and I'm never bored.

    Cyrus left his family to reach his goals, now he is back trying to figure out what is next in his life. It only takes a second before he sees Bertie and he is entranced. The spitfire of pure woman wants nothing to do with him but he has a plan. Once he wins Berties heart though he has to tell her the truth, which could end with him losing her altogether.

    Bertie is a pistol and she tries as hard as she can to push Cyrus away. Liked Cyrus, he is a take no prisoners type of guy. Liked all the side characters and thought this was pure fun.
