This autumn and winter there are lots of strange and spooky activities at The Museum of Somerset offering thrills and challenges around every dark corner.

Escape Rooms

Starting Friday 14 September, we are hosting pop-up Escape Rooms, ‘School Days’ and ‘The Somerset Emerald.’ Teams must work together in a 60-minute, immersive experience to find hidden clues and solve puzzles to escape before their time is up.

Booking is going fast for this time-limited opportunity so get your group together and book online. Cost is £20 per person/online booking only.

Mystery Trails

Throughout October half term, from Monday 29 October to Friday 3 November, there are Mystery Trails offering perplexing puzzles and mystifying mind-benders for children and families.

Trails cost £1 per child or £5 per team/family for a special backpack trail.

Halloween

We’ll be open on the spookiest night of the year, Wednesday 31 October, from 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm. There will be eerie family crafts and activities and Halloween-themed treats in the café.

Dress up if you dare and don’t forget your torch.

Entry is £3 per person or £10 for families. Just drop-in.

Strange Tales

Strange Tales’ takes place on Friday 16 November offering an evening tour of the Museum exploring the folklore associated with the Museum collections.

Booking is required and costs £10 per person.

The Witching Hour’ tolls at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 27 November, when Jonathan Goodwin reprises his role as ghost-story writer MR James for a one-man show of unsettling tales of antiquarian terror.

Bookings is required and costs £9.50.
