Skype is set to launch a new Wi-Fi service for British cafés, restaurants and shops willing to pay a £9.99 per month subscription fee. Once customers log in to the Skype app they will be able to browse the internet for free. Owen Geddes, managing director at Wicoms, said: "We're helping bricks and mortar retailers effectively compete with online retailers".
