Here’s where you can play all 60 of the Boston Street Pianos

The return of the public art and music display is music to the city’s ears.

There’s music in the air around Boston this week, and it’s not just Keytar Bear. Sixty pianos are getting a spot around every neighborhood in the city with a simple message painted on each: “Play me, I’m yours.”It’s all part of Street Pianos, a public art and music display put on by Celebrity Series of Boston that first appeared in the city in 2013 and is running from now until October 10.On Friday, Mayor Walsh will kick off the event at City Hall Plaza at 3 p.m., along with Gary Dunning, executive director of Celebrity Series of Boston, and Luke Jerram, a U.K. artist who created the Street Pianos concept in 2008. The unveiling will also feature musical performances from Voices of Renaissance Choir from the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School.Although the campaign doesn’t officially begin until then, pianos have slowly appeared all across the city and parts of Cambridge over the last three days.

Each instrument is hosted and maintained by a community partner—such as Boston University, the Mary Eddy Baker Library, and the Boston Red Sox —and each piano’s exterior is designed by a local artist.
