The "amber" he refers too is Home Secretary ( Interior Minister) Amber Rudd who has urged May not to resign in the wake of increasing pressure and a disaster-prone party conference speech.
This current sorry saga and talk of ousting the UK PM won't be going away in a hurry in the Machiavellian world of politics.
