Vehicle Related Crimes Persist in the North Shore

Glencoe and surrounding communities continue to be targeted by criminals taking advantage of vehicles that are left unlocked, sometimes with the keys inside, especially during the overnight hours. Many of these criminals are street gang members from Chicago, and they have been known to be armed and use the stolen vehicles to commit additional and sometimes violent crimes. Should they be encountered, these violent criminals pose a threat to community members as well as our Public Safety Officers.

It is imperative that you do your part to keep your neighbors and our Public Safety Officers safe by always locking your vehicles and removing any valuables - no exceptions
