LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – A department-record 147 Millersville University student-athletes have been named 2018-19 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes. This year's 147 broke last season's record amount of 141 and continues a steady progression. The number of Marauder scholar-athletes has grown in each of the last four years, increasing from 104 in 2016 to this year's 147.
The conference announced a new record of scholar-athletes as well with of 3,117 student-athletes from the 17 institutions. This year's 3,117 scholar-athletes were 43 percent of the student-athlete population of all 17 institutions. This broke the previous record set one year ago.
Student-athletes must have a 3.25 GPA throughout the year to be eligible for this honor. This was the 12th consecutive year that Millersville Athletics has totaled 100 or more PSAC Scholar-Athletes. Millersville's student-athletes combined for a 3.085 GPA. Twelve programs produced a GPA of 3.0 or higher with the women's tennis team posting the highest at 3.458.
Four Marauders produced a GPA of 4.0 GPA during the academic year. That list includes: Cassandra Vogel (women's golf), Jimmy Losh (baseball), Ben Fellman (men's tennis) and David Wuestner (wrestling).
