Story

As a web and digital marketing agency we've been supporting SpecialEffect for 5 years with their website and promotional work. But every now and again we love to get out from behind the computer screen and do something a bit more exciting! 2018 will be our third Twin Town Challenge and we're determined to make it the biggest and best yet.

Every penny you donate will go directly to SpecialEffect, helping them to change the lives of more disabled people.

What is Twin Town 2018?

The Twin Town Challenge is a team-based, charity, car event that raises invaluable donations for the SpecialEffect charity. Now in its fourth year the Twin Town events have raised over £450,000 to support SpecialEffect, directly impacting lives of people with physical disabilities. Read more about how SpecialEffect make such a difference below.

Each team taking part in the challenge buy a £500 banger and "pimp their ride" however they like. This time we're going all out Fifth Element style, transforming our black taxi cab into a futuristic, yellow, sci-fi machine, inspired by the Bruce Willis movie. Over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend we'll be taking the cab on an epic, challenge filled, road trip from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire to Witney's twin town, Le Touquet in northern France.

This year Urban Element are aiming to raise in excess of £1,000 from donations as well as spreading the word of the fantastic work carried out through your support. And talking of that fantastic work, here's how SpecialEffect are making such a huge impact...

About SpecialEffect

SpecialEffect enable severely disabled people to use computers in any way possible – using whichever part(s) of their body that work best - by adapting technology to their individual needs. It’s so important they can join in with family/friends, to be included and not left out, giving them a much better quality of life, a little independence when they often have to rely on others for everything else, some much needed escapism & FUN!

We feel really honoured to work with such extraordinary people who in the most testing of circumstances, somehow display immense courage and resilience, inspiring us to keep doing everything we can to enable them to get the most out of life in their own particular situation.

Tom, a young lad we helped wrote simply: “I just want to thank you for giving me my life back”. Tom has since, very sadly & unexpectedly, passed away, but we kept him gaming & laughing right up until the night before he died.
