Until now the feature has only been available in the US. However, from today users in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will be able to store their films digitally.

The two main perks of the capability is that Apple users will be able to access their movies from any iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) and people will no longer need to store the films on their computer – freeing up storage space.

Films can be downloaded straight into the cloud if iTunes users hit the ‘Cloud’ icon on the ‘purchased’ tab within the iTunes Store. They can then delete the file from their device and save the space.

The roll-out is happening across 40 countries in total.

From today UK users can store music, music videos, movies, TV shows, apps and books purchased through iTunes can also be stored in the cloud.

Later this year Apple will release iOS6 which will come loaded with lots of new features.

There are rumours that iTunes will be designed after Apple purchased Chomp, a recommendation engine, earlier this year to improve iOS reccomendations.

A thinner iPhone with new touch screen technology is also expected to be released later this year.
