KCB edge Quins to reach Kenya Cup final
Fullback Darwin Mukidza booted home 14 points as KCB reached the Kenya Cup final with a 19-12 win over Kenya Harlequins in the semifinal played at a rain soaked KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka on Saturday.
Mukidza drilled home a penalty off an early Quins infringement to put the hosts 3-0 up before converted Moses Amusala’s try for a 10-0 score. He would then trade penalties with Quins’ center David Ambunya as KCB took a 13-3 lead into the breather.
Quins were intent on keeping their ambitions alive, Ambunya’s three penalty goals off KCB offenses brought the visitors to within a point of the bankers.
Mukidza drilled home two penalties as the bankers defended to the final whistle, reaching the Kenya Cup final for the first time since the 2014/15 final.
