TECH TAKE: J.W. Anderson, Burberry, Asos and Christopher Raeburn were among the winners at the Decoded Fashion Futures Awards on Wednesday. The event held by the British Fashion Council and Decoded Fashion honors tech innovators in fashion and retail.
J.W. Anderson and Grindr won the Beyond the Runway prize for their digital partnership. The British designer teamed up with the dating platform to present his fall 2016 men’s show via live-stream.
British e-tailer Asos won for A Killer Experience, the category that highlights innovative ways of enhancing shopping experiences. The company was honored for its loyalty program and customer awards.
The Visionary prize, which honors a trailblazer that has revolutionized fashion and retail, was awarded to Snapchat and Burberry. Snapchat was given the Tech Visionary award, while Burberry won the Fashion Visionary prize for a company that pushed boundaries in technology and fashion.
Other winners announced at LSO St. Lukes in London included Sephora for Bytes and Bricks, and Unmade and Christopher Raeburn for Digital Coalition.
The judging panel included Caroline Rush, chief executive officer of the BFC; Dylan Jones, editor of British GQ; Martijn Bertisen, director of Retail for Google; Dolly Jones, digital strategy director at Condé Nast Digital Britain, and José Neves, ceo and founder of Farfetch.
