My Fav Lockdown Purchases from Toronto Businesses

It seems like it’s been months since we weren’t in lockdown in Toronto. Oh wait, it has! We’ve been in some sort of lockdown on and off since March 2020, and you don’t need me to tell you how hard this has been on small businesses, and how desperately important it is to shop local right now.

Throughout my months of being at-home, I’ve made some really great purchases that have been some of my favourite things over the last year. I hope these businesses inspire you to shop local! Let me know if they do.

A cozy tracksuit from See You Soon Toronto

I live in this tracksuit. First off, it looks super cute, but second off, it supports local businesses even further. When you purchase from See You Soon, all proceeds go towards purchasing meals from local restaurants to provide to front-line workers. This tracksuit is seriously SO well made. You won’t regret buying this (in fact, I’m going to buy another one).

BONUS! They’ve given me a sweet promo code for you to use. When you buy one, you’ll get 50% off the second item you purchase. Just use BOGO50 at checkout before it March 16th.

The best smelling candles from Sara’s Soap & Candles

I am obsessed with these candles I discovered in a little shop near me that was selling them during the holiday season. These soy candles smell so damn delicious. My personal favourite is Quebec Maple Sugar, and the Whistler Pine that smells just like a Christmas tree. These make great gifts, or are perfect just to elevate your stay-at-home experience.

Shop local with Canadian-business, Foli, a plant-delivery service.

What better way to spruce up your work-from-home set-up than adding some greenery? We’re stuck inside all the time so having more plants can make your space feel more alive (literally). I discovered Foli at the beginning of the pandemic, and they deliver plants right to your door. I’ve even gifted these to people instead of flowers for holidays like Mother’s Day.

Shop local with Eatable, a GTA based company that sells alcohol infused popcorn.

Eatable makes alcohol-infused popcorn that is super gourmet and makes the perfect gift (or snack for yourself). I gifted these to a lot of my family and friends at Christmas time, and I even received some as a gift for my Birthday. My personal favourite flavour is their Whiskey On The Pops.

Cozy sweaters from Made for the Lake

I discovered this adorable brand based out of Muskoka earlier this year and they make the greatest items that are perfect for your lake/cottage-loving friend. I don’t own any of their items personally, but I bought my sister their crewneck for her Birthday and it was packaged adorably, and was really high quality. Definitely will be purchasing one for myself ASAP!

Another company that originated in Toronto but ships throughout the USA as well is Carnivore Club. I sent their subscription box to both my Dad and step brother for their birthdays this year. They come loaded with unique cured meats, and make a great gift for a foodie, or someone you just don’t know who to buy for. They even have salami bouquets you can purchase!

BONUS! Use code CCCS10 for 10% off shop orders or CCCSSUB for 10% off a subscription order
