From the moment a woman finds out she's pregnant to the actual day of the child's birth, there's a lot of preparation.

Valley News Team's, Danielle Barber, explains how a birth designer takes care of all the planning for you.

"Having a baby is something that most people have never experienced before," said Nichole Klemz. "So, it's something that they have never done and have a lot of questions about, so it's nice to have one contact to talk to."

Expectant mother, Sara Johanneck, said having a birth designer made her entire pregnancy journey much easier.

"For this being my first child and also my mother's no longer around, I just feel like it's a really good like 'okay, what do I do here?' and I really feel like I can ask her any question," said Johanneck.

Lead birth designer and registered nurse, Nichole Klemz, said it doesn't matter if it's your first, second, third or even fourth pregnancy.

"I talk about classes and what would be best for them" Klemz said. "I also go over what to expect in the hospital and I talk to them also about postpartum and what to expect when they bring baby home."

Sanford Women's offers classes like pre-natal yoga and car seat seminars. But, not all the classes are centered on the mother.

"We have a lot of dads who are also nervous about the whole experience and so we go over what to expect, we go over what their wives are thinking, what their partners are thinking, and we talk about what it's like to be a dad, added Klemz.

"He came home and was like 'hey do you know this? This is the type of butt paste we need and I learned how to change a diaper' and he was just chatty for an hour about everything," Johanneck said.

While every pregnancy won't go exactly as planned, Klemz said they do whatever they can to help make sure the birth is everything the parents want it to be.

"For me, it's really been nice to be able to meet with her and be another woman and I know that she knows what she's talking about," said Johanneck.

The birth designer is available throughout the entire pregnancy and is free for all expectant mothers.
