Publisher's summary

Ancient Myths, Superheroes, Vampires...Forget Everything You've Heard.

Many questions surround the origin of these sentient beings who are stronger than humans, eat differently, and live longer. But they were created just as we were, maybe even before us. It is from them we obtain our fairy tales - and our nightmares. They are the reason we believe in superheroes - and monsters. Because...they exist.

In the past, creatus kept the human race safe from an anonymous distance. But now, one creatus will endanger them all by falling in love - with a human. In his quest to protect the woman he can never have, a twist of fate propels him into a new role that will cause dissension among his family, igniting a war.

The Creatus series is not your normal paranormal story...it's a realistic supernatural romantic suspense based on the myths you've heard your entire life. Prepare to believe....

Editorial Reviews:

"This story is completely unique, and is definitely not generic sex and vampires. In fact, I think Creatus will redefine the paranormal genre. Creatus has intrigue, suspense, romance, and tremendous depth." (Top #50 Amazon Reviewer Vine Voice)

"This book could easily classify itself as romance/mystery/suspense/thriller.... I'm not a big Twilight fan, but I did enjoy the first movie.... I found Creatus reminding me somewhat of Twilight, but with actors I loved." (New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Linda S. Prather)

"....well written, compassionately told, and creates characters that make you want to know them better. It is the foundation for a great series, and I believe it will be quite popular." (Sweet Mystery Books)

Great twists

Just when I thought I saw the twists coming in this series things went somewhere I didn't expect at all. Loved it from start to finish.

slow going

I ended up really getting into the story, but it wasn't until about halfway through the second book. It's an interesting take. My biggest issue was the narrator, he couldn't do many different voices, so I got a little lost on who was speaking a few times and had to rewind the story.

The Narration threw me off...alot

This book has a decent plot and likable characters but the narration was terrible! It sounded very unprofessional and the narrator was emphasizing the wrong words and adding punctuation where there shouldn't have been any. Add to that, his constant mispronunciation of words (Lyberry instead of Library- is just one of many examples) and I found myself distracted and frustrated. A lot of characters in this book and not enough character development with rushed outcomes.

A rough start. But worth Listening entirely once.

I thought the idea of the Creatus was excellent… Honestly though, if I Wasn't a little OCD about it least finishing a book that I start. I probably wouldn't have gotten past the first possibly second book because the first book is very confusing. They keep talking about being different having to hide legends and myths but they never really allude to what they are or are what's going on until almost the third book. And there's a lot of things that are just dropped like for instance Christina's friend Beth she supposed to be her best friend she goes out to buy wedding dress with her Chris tells her about being engaged baskets beat up by a Creatus and put in the hospital Chris goes to see her once you never hear anything about Beth's fiancé are her and Chris getting together after she's healed not to mention the fact that Beth is supposed to be Chris's very best friend Chris decides to take and elope while her suppose it best friend is still in a ICU all this is done because it's supposed to be a message to her husband but Beth never apparently questions Christina about any of it I find it hard to believe somebody beats you up enough to put you in ICU to get your best friend's attention and they don't say anything to you about their reasoning so that you can relay the message. And even if that's not an issue there's also the factor that it's her so-called best friend and they don't bother to get together after she gets out of the hospital? I really enjoyed the concept and the personality of a lot of the characters but it was almost like this set of books was written as a companion to another story or something so there's a lot of assumed information or holes for assumptions like when you watch a movie that has gaps unless you've read the book and if you have read the book then it makes sense but if you have not read the book you're standing there scratching your head. that's the feeling that this series gave me but again I really did like the concept. Another problem I had was the narration at first is very monotone I usually don't have any trouble listening to audibles but I found myself, being lulled to sleep at some points it was hard to tell which character was speaking because the voice sounded so similar or was the same I've had other experiences with narrators that were just incredible I would recommend this As a at least once read but if you started I recommend that you at least finish it once because the first couple books are really slow going but it is worth reading at least once.

narrator needs to learn to pronounce words properl

If this series had not been part of the romance package I would have asked for my money back. the narrator had difficulties pronouncing common words including library. If it had been one word no big deal, but it was chronic. He also tended to portray every single female character as whiny and petulant. I will not be purchasing any novels where he is the narrator.

Entertaining!

This was definitely an entertaining series of paranormal stories. It was refreshing to listen to a series of books where the author didn’t feel it necessary to fill it with graphic sex scenes and foul language; instead she filled the pages with exciting, romantic, suspenseful storylines. I had a difficult time putting the book down and couldn’t wait to get back to it again and continue listening to see what would happen next...being 23+ hours long it was impossible to listen to it in one sitting. There were some good twists and turns throughout the story that kept up the suspense as well as my interest. This author and narrator are both new to me however I will definitely be looking for more from each of them. I thought Marcio Catalano did an excellent job with the narration. His female voices were a bit weak at times and he may have mispronounced and slurred a couple of words however he had excellent material to work with and did such a great job of it that it was not a problem whatsoever. I really enjoyed listening to this boxed set. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook, however I have voluntarily provided this unbiased review.

Worth it

It started off slow and at first I was not really that interested in it. I was like I will go ahead and finish to it but, but by the time I got to the second book I was surprised at how it was better than I thought at first. By the third book I was hooked and now I can't wait for the sixth book to be released.
