Amazon Business launches in the UK

Amazon has launched Amazon Business in the United Kingdom, a B2B service where companies can order a curated selection of products online. Amazon Business supplies products directly to businesses, but also acts as a middleman through its marketplace service.

Accompanied by the slogan “Everything you love about Amazon. For business”, Amazon Business is now live in the UK. According to the ecommerce company, Amazon Business is meant for sole traders, mid-size companies and large multinationals, for purchasing pros and occasional buyers. The United Kingdom is the third market where Amazon has launched its Amazon Business brand, after establishing this service in the US and Germany.

The B2B service offers price discounts just for businesses and quantity discounts on multi-unit purchases. There is free one-day delivery on orders above £30 and the services provides businesses VAT-free pricing. Businesses can also add multiple users to their account, set spending limits and enable purchasing approval workflows. “It’s the selection, convenience and value customers love about Amazon, now for business”, Amazon says about its B2B service.

Difference between Amazon Business and Selling on Amazon

In the FAQ, Amazon explains the main difference between the Amazon Business seller program and Selling on Amazon. “The Amazon Business seller program is a free upgrade to the Professional Selling plan, allowing sellers to cater to the specific requirements of business customers by providing features optimized for business-to-business transactions.” Business sellers will see new B2B features in Seller Central, but the overall functionality of Seller Central will not change, Amazon emphasizes.
