(AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
This is a key position on the Communication’s Team for this fast-growing nonprofit health care organization, responsible for well-developed and effective communications.

The Advocacy & Content Coordinator manages all patient relations to include patient experience, surveys, stories, videos, focus groups and more. This position requires creativity, initiative, organization, good judgment, and the ability to express thoughts clearly and simply. This candidate must be an excellent and versatile writer with a notable passion for visual storytelling. This person would edit and proof documents, write patient stories, scripts, supporting documentation, messaging, public service announcements, press releases, etc.

This position also designs collateral to include patient newsletters, mailers/cards and more. The ideal candidate should be a results-oriented self-starter who possesses not only excellent written and oral communication skills but enjoys working in a multi-task, detail oriented and deadline-driven environment and has the ability to prioritize, organize and complete complex tasks. The Advocacy & Content Coordinator must consistently demonstrate the ability to both grasp “big picture” ideas and handle small details and logistics of a project with commitment and a proactive, positive and team-minded behavior.
  • Conducts surveys and works Peak Vista public relations or marketing events to collect and identify patient preferences and experiences
  • Conducts regular accountability and variance analysis of patient experience outcomes
  • Manage Peak Vista’s advocacy plan to include annual advocacy plan, calendar, packets, mailing lists, legislator visits, NHC Week Committee (serves as lead), collaborates and engages other Peak Vista departments to increase involvement and impact (with the assistance of the Executive Administrative Asst)
  • Compose articles, letters, outlines, memoranda, reports and other documents as needed
  • Responsible for writing web copy as needed
  • Ensures patient communication and explanation of services is provided in a way that can be easily understood by patients and their families
  • Continually assesses patient communication and protocols for potential improvements; considers and incorporates the needs of culturally diverse populations; ensures effective communication with patient and family regarding high amenity offerings and services provided
  • Oversee and manage patient videos that can be used as marketing tools in the community or on social media (works closely with Digital Media Coordinator)
  • Oversee and manage focus groups that would be comprised of internal and external members to allow for Peak Vista to better serve our patients
  • Manage patient experience efforts such as collecting and reporting patient feedback forms; manage patient stories collection
  • Manage and coordinate patient videos (works closely with the Digital Media Coordinator)
  • Designs collateral to include patient newsletters, mailers/cards and more
  • Coordinates and tracks media mentions; proactively searches for new media relations opportunities; produce weekly media hits report
  • Develops, posts and maintains company intranet communication board, Quick Peak
  • Provide event support for a variety of internal and external events, as assigned
  • Provide editing support for design collateral, various documents, scripts, messaging, etc.
    with great attention to detail
  • Prioritizes a heavy workload while meeting multiple deadlines with a high degree of accuracy under minimal supervision
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions

  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate, explore and implement alternative solutions
  • Provides photography and events support, as assigned
  • Assigned as backup for media inquiries, as appropriate
  • Provides administrative duties for Communications Department
  • Collaborate on special projects, as assigned
  • Performs other duties, as assigned
  • Maintains media lists and generates others lists as needed to assist in email marketing campaigns

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor Degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field preferred.
  • Work Experience: 2 - 4 years of communications, marketing, public relations, provider relations, events or administration/project management work required
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter, high level of initiative, proven proactive thinker
  • High level of commitment to customer service (internal and external)
  • Highly detail oriented with superb organizational skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task with results-oriented mindset
  • Calm individual who can operate under pressure, deadlines, and the demands of a busy office environment
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge in graphics arts software (Adobe, Creative Suite) and HTML for website applications
  • Must be willing work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus, but not required
  • Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver’s License and insurance required.
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Access to high-speed internet at home highly encouraged
Location: Colorado Springs Administrative Services Offices
Schedule: 40 hours/week* (Monday – Friday, with some evening and weekends)
*An alternate work schedule with four 10-hour days is available after 6 months of employment

Physical Demands

 Able to lift at least 25 pounds. Long periods of standing and moving. Occasional periods of sitting. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time.
