Officers administer CPR to man sitting in police station lobby
Police officers didn’t have to go far when responding to a medical emergency.
A man was sitting in the lobby of the Manchester police department when several officers noticed the man seemed pale and appeared to be sleeping.
Sgt. Pete Marr was the first officer to notice and said he immediately feared the worst.
"I've seen a bunch of dead people in this job, and that's exactly what he looked like," Marr said. "His mouth was open, and he was completely unresponsive."
Marr, along with lieutenants Nicole Ledoux and Joe Mucci and Officer Victoria Catano, jumped in to help. They put the man on the floor and began CPR.
"We're all first responders," Ledoux said. "Joe, Pete and I all worked the street for a long time, so going to traumatic things where people are injured or having medical emergencies or having trauma or drama is not unusual for us. It's what we do for a living."
Station security cameras captured the dramatic scene, showing officers vigorously working to save the man’s life.
The 51-year-old man was rushed to the hospital and is being treated for a possible heart attack.
Doctors said the swift action police saved the man’s life.
