What is T.R.U.E. Test patch testing and How Can It Affect My Allergies?

Do you have allergic contact dermatitis? Do you get flare ups of bumps, red patches, or dry patches on your skin? Do you have itchy skin with no known cause? The science behind T.R.U.E. Testing

The way it works is both simple and convenient. The tests consist of three small, thin panels. A very small amount of a number of different known allergens are dried into that film. We then apply the film to a place on your back. Your skin moistens the strips and releases the allergen. As soon as we take off the patch, we can see which of the allergens caused your skin to react.

This is one of the most comfortable options

Many people are worried that allergy testing is going to be painful or cause a worse breakout than they’re already dealing with. The good news is that this method of testing is one of the most comfortable skin allergy testing options available on the market today. In almost all cases, the skin reaction is very mild. We use hypoallergenic surgical tape to complete the test, which means it’s safe for any skin type. Note that at this time these patches are only used on adults who are at least 18 years old.

Get tested for more than 35 allergens

One of the main benefits of this option is that it can test for reactions to a large number of skin allergens. In fact, it includes 36 different films, each one with a different allergen. With this testing you could find out if you’re allergic to nickel, epoxy, wool alcohols, gold, benzocaine, formaldehyde, fragrance, parabens, rubber, and many more.

Once the results are back, we will help you understand them. this may include showing you what’s actually in your beauty productions, medications, and other household substances that may have an allergen in them. We can help you find alternative ways of cleaning, medicating yourself, etc. to avoid contact with what’s causing your reactions. We can also find the right topical treatment that will ease the symptoms of your allergens.
