Spring semester graduates of the Austin Community College district were awarded their degrees during a commencement ceremony on May 11.

The students—who finished certificate programs, associate degrees, and high school equivalency tests—were among ACC’s largest graduating class to date. The class contained 1,861 individuals, up by 14.3 percent from 2016.

The years prior saw similar increases—growing from 1,205 graduates in 2014, to 1,432 in 2015 and 1,628 in 2016.

Annually, around 76,000 people are enrolled at the college, according to a press release from ACC. Jessica Vess, the college’s associate director of communications, said that a majority of students attend with the intention to transfer to a baccalaureate program, while some are high school students taking early college courses through dual enrollment.
