The Skatalites

2024 rings in the 60th Anniversary of the originators, whose influence in the world of ska, reggae, and pop music is unparalleled, THE SKATALITES!!! The original members played on hundreds of recording sessions before forming the band in 1964. Backing most of the vocalists in Jamaica at that time, including Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe and many more The Skatalites secured their place in history early on. After disbanding in 1965 the individual members continued playing in various groups as the music evolved from ska to rocksteady to reggae. In the late 70's a resurgence of interest in the music began in the U.K. which caused the creation of many bands such as The Specials, The English Beat, Madness, The Selecter and Bad Manners. This became known as the "Two-Tone era" and these British musicians fused rock music with the ska and reggae. In The early 80's the music started to spread to the U.S.A and other parts of the world. Bands began to emerge all over the globe playing different flavors of ska and reggae fused with whatever else they wanted to throw in, including hard core, jazz and even punk. In 1983 The Skatalites reunited to play Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay and subsequently in London at The Crystal Palace for the U.K version of the Sunsplash event. A few years later they began emigrating to the U.S.A and in 1986 the first US shows began at The Village Gate in NYC. The band supported Bunny Wailer on The Liberation Tour in 1989 and followed it up in 1990 embarking on their first-ever headline tour of The U.S.A. The Skatalites have not stopped touring the world ever since and continue to be available for festivals, casinos, and intimate venue settings. Their uniquely infectious brand of real, authentic Jamaican ska excites audiences of all ages across the globe year after year. "We hope you will enjoy listening to our music as much as we enjoy performing it for you."

Firehouse // Steelheart

As are you, we are devastated at the passing of CJ Snare, the original vocalist and a founding member of the musical group FireHouse. We are thankful for the opportunity to have worked with CJ and FireHouse over the past many years at both the Arcada and the historic Des Plaines Theaters. His memory will live forever with us as we celebrate his life through every concert we have . We were looking forward to CJ rejoining the band after recovering from surgery. With his untimely passing, regrettably, that will not be possible. FireHouse will be performing April 26th at the historic Des Plaines Theater in Des Plaines, IL with special guest Steelheart.  Nate Peck, 2023 American Idol Golden Ticket recipient from Season 21, will be handling vocals. With CJ's blessing and full support, Nate has been singing with the band in CJ's absence over the past 6 months. You may have seen Nate performing with FireHouse at Arcada Theater on October 27, 2023. CJ left an indelible mark on the music industry with his soaring voice and the FireHouse music he crafted. Reach for the sky CJ! Your memory and your music will live on forever! Firehouse is taking the stage to give you a long dose of metal.  Get pumped for a night of wild rock n roll that will leave your ears ringing for days to come. You’ll hear all of your favorites like, "Don't Treat Me Bad", ”Love of a Lifetime”, "All She Wrote", "When I Look Into Your Eyes", and MORE!  The aptly named SteelHeart is the rock n’ roll band fronted by internationally known Croatian-American musician Miljenko Matijevic. Miljenko’s powerful multioctave vocal range is and always has been the steel, heart and soul of what is SteelHeart. With much heart and steely determination, this band has been going strong and rocking hard for 30 years. LIVE TODAY LOVE TOMORROW TOUR MMXXIV with The Alarm, Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel & Belouis Some

LIVE TODAY LOVE TOMORROW TOUR MMXXIV presents a phalanx of British music artists who first came to prominence in North America during the original MTV music television era when The Alarm, Gene Loves Jezebel and Belouis Some all broke onto the scene with music that collectively blurred the lines between new wave, alternative rock and pop music as we know it. The Alarm first arrived onto the US music scene in 1983 via an appearance on the original MTV Cutting Edge TV Show and a debut tour of America as the opening act for U2 on the War Tour. Subsequently described by Bono as “The second greatest rock and roll band in the world’, The Alarm has maintained a constant North American presence ever since via classic singles such as The Stand, Strength and Rain In The Summertime. More recently, their last four albums – Equals (2018), Sigma (2019), Omega (2022) and Forwards (2023), have all featured in the top thirty of the Billboard Hot 100 Independent album chart. British goth rockers Gene Loves Jezebel also featured in heavy rotation across the MTV Network establishing their songs Desire, The Motion of Love and Jealous as massive Billboard Hit singles. With their ever present and enigmatic front man at the helm, Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel recently performed at the inaugural Cruel World Festival in California 2022 appearing alongside the likes of Morrissey, Bauhaus and Blondie. The band have also recently signed to Cleopatra in the USA and have a brand new album Love Death Sorrow that will be available at all good record stores and online outlets during the Live Today Love Tomorrow MMXXIV tour. Belouis Some created the classic international hit singles ‘Imagination’ and ‘Some People’ in1985, and while touring with Frankie Goes To Hollywood caused controversy at MTV with a nude video created by the legendary Storm Thorgerson. In 1986, Belouis Some contributed the song ‘Round, Round’ to the classic John Hughes’ era defining film soundtrack ‘Pretty In Pink’ which was listed in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 25 Greatest Soundtracks of All Time” and (like The Alarm), also appeared as special guest to Freddie Mercury and Queen in the UK . Live Today Love Tomorrow Tour MMXXIV will give North American fans a chance to ‘step back into the future’ and hear a soundtrack of music from three classic British artists who all played a part in shaping the musical landscape that dominates the airwaves of today.

Spyro Gyra – 50th Anniversary

In 2024, Jay Beckenstein and band observe the 50th anniversary of what started as a diversion, something that was just for fun (and twenty-five cents at the door). It began inauspiciously when Beckenstein and a few musician friends in Buffalo NY organized a get together on their shared night off from working in bands that actually made money. It was a simple, humble idea with a name that was likewise simple and humble, “Tuesday Night – Jazz Jam”. Fast forward 50 years and this jazz super group has released over 30 albums, garnering gold and platinum along the way. They’ve played over 10,000 concerts on six continents. Spyro Gyra has maintained its standards of excellence and that has sustained them on the “A list” of live attractions in jazz for 50 years.

WAR: 50th Anniversary Tour

WAR, one of music’s defining and most enduring soul/funk groups, was founded in Long Beach, California, in 1962. In 1973, their smash album The World is a Ghetto vaulted to No. 1 on Billboard’s pop and R&B charts behind the crossover success of two top-10 singles, the album’s socially conscious title song and its rollicking follow-up “The Cisco Kid.” Over a long and glittering career, WAR has rung up more than 20 multi-platinum, platinum and gold albums and singles. This year, fronted by co-founding member Lonnie Jordan, the group will celebrate 50 years of 1973’s #1 Billboard top-selling album, The World is a Ghetto, with a 50-date summer tour, remixes, new releases and more.

The Bacon Brothers Freestanding Tour

The Bacon Brothers have spent the better part of three decades exploring their own mix of folk, rock, soul, and country music. They call that diverse sound "forosoco," and it's taken them around the world, from headlining gigs in Japan to American performances at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry and Gruene Hall. The exploration continues with the band's twelfth release, Ballad Of The Brothers. It's a record that highlights not only the similarities between Kevin Bacon (known worldwide as an A-list Hollywood actor) and Michael Bacon (celebrated as an Emmy-winning composer), but the differences, too. The two siblings may be bound together by blood and a mutual love of American roots music, but they've grown into sharp songwriters and cinematic storytellers with their own distinct approaches. Ballad Of The Brothers makes room for both of those approaches, offering a mix of edgy alt-rock ("Take Off This Tattoo"), Motown-inspired soul ("Put Your Hand Up"), fingerpicked folk ("Let That Be Enough"), and everything in between. The album also marks the continuation of a musical partnership that began long ago in Philadelphia, where the Bacons were raised on a soundtrack of 1970s singer/songwriters, Philly soul bands, and classic rock acts. Multiple decades and countless shows later, they're creating their own soundtrack, saluting their old-school influences while making music that's undeniably modern.
