Kleven and Lürssen join forces on 100m-explorer vessel

Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven has signed a contract with Lürssen on the delivery of a 100m-explorer vessel for a non-disclosed customer.

According to Kleven, the vessel will be built, partly outfitted and technically finalised at Kleven Verft in Norway, before her final outfitting at Lürssen’s Blohm+Voss facility in Hamburg, Germany. This follows a similar route to that undertaken by the commercial shipbuilder with its two Ulysses yachts, built for New Zealand's richest man Graeme Hart.

News of the partnership follows Lürssen’s attainment of a stake in the Norwegian shipyard earlier this year, after Kleven sold 40% of its equity to a group of companies for a little over €30 million.
