Americans are no strangers to combining dearly loved foods. We've been known to dine on fried chicken and waffles, chicken sandwiched in a doughnut, and the ultimate combination food, the turducken — a chicken stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey. But the latest two-in-one food phenomenon is making waves in the UK, despite its classic American components. It's a hot dog-stuffed crust pizza.

Pizza Hut UK offers the meat-filled pie, which is described on its web site as having a "succulent hot dog sausage bursting from our famous stuffed crust, with a FREE Mustard Drizzle." After discovering the menu item, one Gizmodo writer lamented, "What the hell, America? I thought we were the land of junk food? I thought we were hot dog heaven."

But the UK can't take all the credit for this still-intact sausage-filled pie. Huffington Post reports that the hot dog-pizza marriage worked successfully in Thailand and Japan long before Brits were ordering the meal.
