U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei (R-NV) recently toured Alsco Uniforms’ plant in Carson City, NV, to see a commercial laundry in action and meet some of its employees. TRSA arranged the visit to introduce Rep. Amodei to the linen, uniform and facility services industry.

During the tour, Rep. Amodei saw how rental textiles are sorted, washed, dried and finished. General Manager Shawn Mynear served as tour guide for the congressman. Mynear also discussed key topics, such as the importance of healthcare facilities needing a reusable PPE threshold, as well as the importance of industrial laundering of healthcare uniforms and scrubs to prevent the spread of infection.

Rep. Amodei emphasized the importance of the industry getting involved in the public policy process and recognized TRSA’s efforts. “As the only organization representing the linen, uniform and facility services industry, TRSA’s efforts to reach out to policymakers is highly effective and important,” the congressman said of the association.

Rep. Amodei added that he was impressed with the facility, and that the tour increased his knowledge of the linen, uniform and facility services industry. Mynear returned the compliment, noting that, “We at Alsco Uniforms appreciate Congressman Amodei’s visit. TRSA did a great job setting the event up.”

The tour of Alsco Uniforms’ Carson City facility by Rep. Amodei is another great example of the productive relationships that TRSA cultivates with members of Congress on behalf of the industry.
