The LA tech scene is coming off a lively week of fresh funding announcements and more. Find out what’s in the works for these companies as they continue to fuel their growth. This is the Built In LA weekly refresh.

RepairSmith pulled in $42MTI Capital led the Series B round that will enable RepairSmith to fuel additional growth and expand its footprint nationwide. The company deploys a team of technicians to provide on-site car repair and maintenance services for customers at their home or place of work. This funding will allow RepairSmith to expand into the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the country. [Built In LA]

These LA tech companies made the Inc. 5000Considered some of the fastest-growing startups in the country, 298 Los Angeles-area companies across all industries ranked on Inc.’s latest list. The honorees are ranked by their overall revenue growth from 2017–2020. Claiming the top spots for LA tech were music licensing startup Songtradr, health and wellness brand Your Super, and financial advice provider Dave. [Built In LA]

Apeel raised $250MLooking to reduce the amount of produce that goes to waste, the company developed a plant-based protection layer meant to slow the water loss and oxidation that causes fruits and veggies to spoil. It just closed on a Series E round led by Temasek that it plans to invest in connecting product suppliers to its supply networks. Nacelle got $50MSpecializing in headless commerce, the company’s platform supplies brands with a solution that accelerates access to backend systems as well as shopping experiences. Nacelle just closed on a Series B round of funding led by Tiger Global, and it’s planning to invest in furthering its go-to-market initiatives and expanding across customer success, partner relations and product development. ForEVR Games secured $7MWith its most popular game ForeVR Bowl and other immersive products, the virtual reality game studio is building out its team with its latest round of funding. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and brings the startup’s total funding to $8.5 million. It’s currently hiring for an art director, game designer, UX artist and VR game engineer. Sweetgreen appointed its new CTOThe company is developing tech to create the future of fast food. Formerly an SVP at Starbucks, Wouleta Ayele will take up the mantle of restaurant chain Sweetgreen’s chief technology officer. It will be her responsibility to lead tech teams in helping scale Sweetgreen’s supply chain model, advance restaurant operations, acquire new talent and develop their digital platforms. [BizWomen]
