National Indoor Plant Week 2012

There is now an official week or day for everything on the planet. This week, we happen to be celebrating National Indoor Plant Week because sure, why not. As random as the "holiday" might be, you can be the happy owner of your very own plant friend -- for free.

Engledow Group, a Carmel-based company that offers "interior landscaping services," is giving away 3,000 plants on Monument Circle on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Get yourself to the Circle from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m (or until supplies run out) to score a free arboricola.

Aboricola, also known as a parasol plant or dwarf umbrella plant, can grow under a variety of light conditions, but prefer brighter light, according to PlantCareToday.com. The plant doesn't like sitting in water, so it's fairly low-maintenance with its watering needs.
