Mock DWI crash to interrupt Thursday morning traffic near Oñate High School

LAS CRUCES - Morning traffic will be temporarily interrupted on Thursday as a mock DWI crash is staged near Oñate High School.

Traffic will be affected for about three hours beginning at 8:30 a.m. in preparation for the "Shattered Lives," a simulated DWI crash that gets underway at 10 a.m. 

Mesa Grande Road will be closed from Bataan Memorial West to Oñate High School. The Mesa Grande exit off U.S. 70 will also be closed beginning at 8:30 a.m. in both directions. Road closures are expected to be lifted by 11:30 a.m.
