The community bulletin board at the local rec center has become a thing of the past, thanks to Facebook. With Facebook Groups, parents can connect with other local parents for advice, babysitters, and local information. But there's something about the moms in these Facebook parenting groups — some unique personalities that are not limited to the group you've joined. They're ubiquitous.

The All-Nighter
This mom is posting and commenting in the group 24 hours a day. We're not sure when she has the time, but she's certainly made it her hobby!

The Nanny Cam
This woman's on the hunt for bad childcare providers and posting about everything she sees. She's usually somewhat vague in her posting, uploading a photo of the nanny and a message that reads, "if this is your nanny, contact me immediately."

The Saleslady
She always apologizes in advance if it isn't appropriate for her to be posting here (it isn't!), but she's representing LuLaRoe, Jamberry nails, Rodan + Fields, and wants you to know that A) she's got a great sale going on today, and B) you can join her team and make money while still being present for your kids.

The Lurker
You know this mom in real life. She doesn't comment on any posts, but she refers to them in vague terms — as if she's afraid to admit she actually reads the posts in the group — whenever you see her in person.

She constantly threatens to tell the group administrator about every post she finds inappropriate and having people banned from the group. Somehow this woman seems to think this is the schoolyard all over again.

Her posts sound innocent enough at first, but after reading them again, you realize she really just wants to brag — about her children, her home, her finances. You know the type, "Any recommendations for a top-notch ballet studio in town? Just met with the instructors of my toddler's ballet class and they say she is already exhibiting prima ballerina potential."

Consider this group member to be your modern-day air-raid alarm. If there's a bug going around the school, she's posting about norovirus. If there's smoke in the air, she's posting about forest fires. It's always a five-alarm fire with this one.
