Tony Brown was back practicing with Alabama on Friday but he's not out of the woods yet.
The reserve rising junior cornerback is still facing suspensions after he was sent home for a "violation of team rules" at the Cotton Bowl in December. Alabama has never explicitly stated what Brown's violation was or why it continues to impact him.
"He is facing some suspensions," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. "When I get the final data on that, I'll let you know."
Brown didn't participate in either the Cotton Bowl or the national championship game at the end of last season. The former five-star recruit had 16 tackles playing as a cornerback, safety and on special teams in 2015. With multiple departures among starters in the secondary, Brown could be in line for an increase in playing time depending on how his suspensions shake out.
Brown did participate in Alabama's championship parade in January.
