Jessica Mulroney shares first Instagram post since social media spat

Jessica Mulroney has taken to Instagram to share her first post since becoming embroiled in controversy over a nasty online spat with influencer Sasha Exeter

The socialite and TV star admitted that she has been "in the worst state," while sharing an Instagram post in celebration of her twin sons' 10th birthday.

"Happy 10th to my twin babies," wrote Jessica, posting a video that showed her husband Ben presenting their sons Brian and John with a cake.

"My incredible family have had to witness mom in the worst state," she continued.

"These two boys have not left my side and gave me the will to live and work hard when everything fell apart. They deserve the best birthday. Only up from here."

Jessica and Ben's 7-year-old daughter Ivy can also be seen in the clip.

Jessica was fired from her presenting role with CTV after Canadian social media star Exeter shared messages that showed the I Do, Redo host allegedly threatening to sue her.

The row between the pair began following an Instagram post from Exeter calling on her fellow influencers to do more around the issue of Black Lives Matter, to which she claims Jessica took offence.

I’ve been silent. Not anymore!⁣ ⁣ I’m used to being so transparent on this platform. I think it’s the main reason why most of you follow me. Today, I’m opening up about something that has been haunting me for the last week. I have felt like a complete fraud fighting for racial equality and using my voice openly here, while letting a white woman silence mine behind closed doors. In sharing this very personal story, I know that I am risking a lot. Opening myself up to criticism, bullying and potential ramifications with my job in this space. However, I must speak my truth. Enough is enough. Hopefully my voice will be heard by many and help change things for the next generation and for my daughter Maxwell... because I will be dammed if my child ever has to deal with this level of ignorance.

Exeter alleged the argument resulted in Jessica threatening to turn companies and brands against her.

Jessica later issued a statement of apology and clarified that she would not be taking any legal action on the matter.

Meanwhile, Ben stepped down from his role as a host on etalk in light of the controversy.

His departure from the show, which he had been with for nearly 20 years, came as a move to make space for more diversity on the team.
