Readers of Eater usually have the same question: Where should I eat right now? As always, the Austin restaurant scene remains as exciting as ever, as new places have continued to open. With all of this in mind, Eater is updating its monthly heatmap (now in its 145th iteration), highlighting a mix of exciting restaurants, trucks, and food services.
This April 2024 update is a big one since many places opened for or during South by Southwest. There’s returning Chinese restaurant New Fortune 2, new Korean spot An Nyeong K Tofu and BBQ, Korean fried chicken destination Donkey Mo’s (with two locations!), Olamaie’s new casual Texas icehouse Redbud, fine-dining establishment Mexta, and L’Oca d’Oro’s new pizzeria Bambino.
