welcome! Welcome to the 13th Kingscliff Triathlon! I wish to recognize the generations of the local Aboringal people Bundjalung Nation who have lived in and derived their physical and spiritual needs from the forests, rivers, lakes and streams of this beautiful valley over many thousands of years as the traditional owners and custodians of these lands. Our beautiful Tweed Shire is the perfect location for nature based activities such as this event. We love that you have chosen a sport that treads lightly on our planet and, in my eyes, participating in natural, low impact sports makes you all winners. Best of luck, and most important of all, enjoy the vibe and the camaraderie. Mayor Katie Milne

Hello athletes, families and supporters of the Kingscliff Triathlon. On behalf of our Official Partner the Tweed Coast Holiday Parks, we warmly welcome you to the wonderful coastal village of Kingscliff and the beautiful Tweed Coast. Now in its 13th edition, we are very excited to have an expanded field of over a thousand high performance athletes enjoy their weekend at the Kingy Tri. And with the World Age Group Selection and State Series Championship races taking place, we are expecting a great day and a large crowd of supporters. Such a large scale event could not be organised without the huge support from the Kingscliff residents and businesses, the local authorities, Tweed Shire Council, Destination Tweed, and the NSW Police Force, and our wonderful and smiling team of volunteers who have been helping us for six years. A special thanks goes to these people, as without them all of this would not be possible. To our triathletes, I look forward to meeting you at the starting line and wish you the race of the year. Please enjoy our added new oceanic experience on the rockwall during the run and I hope to see you in the Surf Club for a celebratory soiree in the afternoon. See you at the finish line!

swim It is the responsibility of the competitor to read the race brief before you enter the water. This has all the information and rules to racing you need to know. There are no excuses if you don’t follow regulations and are reprimanded by officials. Competitors must proceed to the “prestart” area no later than 10 minutes before their group’s starting time. If a competitor misses his or her start wave, they will be able to start when they want but their time will be calculated from their start wave. The official swim cap should be visible and clean. Stickers or other markings are not allowed on the swim cap. Athletes may wear a personal swim cap under the official swim cap.

The swim cap given at registration is provided for safety and shall be worn at all times throughout the swim. To enter the race, you have to walk through the official entrance to the starting area. There will be a timing mat to pass, so all athletes will be registered as starters in the race. The race will start in the water. If you are not the best swimmer, take it easy and let the fast ones go first and then find your own rhythm and enjoy the water. The swim is marked with buoys. Should you be in any kind of need, kayaks, lifeguards and marshals will be in the water to help you. When entering the water, please make sure your timing ship is securely fastened.
