AUSTIN (KXAN) — More jobs may be coming to Austin following the opening of a new office. Indeed has officially opened an Austin office, hoping to add 1,000 tech jobs to the city.

The company is the world’s leading job site and employs more than 500 people in Austin. Mayor Adler and representatives from the Austin Chamber of Commerce were present Friday morning for the opening.

“I’m in a room full of young people-all excited, all looking toward great potential and great future,” Mayor Adler said. “This company feels a lot like Austin.”

Currently, Austin is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. This growth may bring challenges, but Adler thinks it will also bring the resources to handle those challenges.

“We have to manage that growth in a way that enables the quality of life in our city to be preserved,” Adler said.

Mayor Adler also hopes more tech companies come to Austin in the future.

“This tech revolution is changing so much about our world, and I love that Austin is one of the epicenters for that change,” Adler said.

The 220,000 square-foot office is located in Champion Office Park.
