Former Dodger Matt Kemp will auction off his San Diego megamansion

The estate overlooks a golf course in a swanky gated community north of the city

Former Dodgers All-Star Matt Kemp is leaving Southern California entirely after a two-year stint with the San Diego Padres and will play with the Atlanta Braves this season.

So it’s no surprise that the outfielder is evidently eager to jettison his 15,844-square-foot estate in a swanky San Diego County gated community called The Heritage.

So eager, apparently, that he’ll auction it off to the highest bidder on April 20. The home was previously listed for $11.5 million but will now sell without reserve come auction day.

The house is located in the small city of Poway, north of San Diego and east of Mira Mesa, on a nearly four-acre lot above the Maderas Golf Course—one amenity offered to residents of the Heritage community.

The interior of the five-bedroom home includes hardwood floors and cavernous common areas with high ceilings and wide windows to take advantage of the property’s impressive mountain views.

The master suite is equipped with a fireplace and an abundance of closet space.

Other features of the home include a gym, game room, cigar lounge, home theater, wine room, outdoor kitchen, and an infinity pool and spa. There even appears to be a hair dressing room.

The auction is being managed by Concierge Auctions, in conjunction with Kofi Nartey and Morgan Trent of Compass Realty’s sports and entertainment division.
