Making a Difference Locally charity manager Kate Carroll said: “We are delighted with the amount donated through Making a Difference Locally in 2016 as the donations made will make a huge difference to almost 2,000 causes across the UK, particularly those smaller charities and community groups which rely on public support.

“We are thrilled that last year was another record year for the charity, delivering some amazing, life-changing donations to local communities, which we hope to see even more of in 2017.”

The charity said donations in 2016 helped to fund a wide range of projects, from football equipment for local youth teams, to community defibrillators and a boat for Sea Cadets to learn to sail in.
