What’s in this Dallas restaurant’s Scouting-themed Tenderfoot salad?

Most patrols don’t think “gourmet salad” when planning their campout menu. But with a recipe like this one I tried last week, that might change.

A Dallas-based salad chain now has a Scouting-themed salad called the Tenderfoot.

Snappy Salads combines these ingredients to make the Tenderfoot: artisan lettuce, romaine, green onion, grilled peach, “rattlesnake beans,” gorgonzola, Texas pecans, house-made mint vinaigrette, and grilled, grass-fed beef tenderloin.

The result? Pretty darn tasty.

And if there’s any doubt whether the salad’s name is an homage to Scouting, just look at the menu:

At $12.70 for a half-size salad, this one ain’t cheap.

But let’s just be glad this Scouting-themed salad doesn’t include hot dogs. Or — worse yet — graham crackers and marshmallows.
