Karen R. Jackson
Introductory remarks by Karen R. Jackon, the State Secretary of Technology.
Ms. Jackson serves as a senior advisor to the Governor on technology matters including innovation, data analytics, telecommunications, cybersecurity,
and unmanned systems. She is also responsible for overseeing the Commonwealth’s IT infrastructure.
Senator Mark R. Warner
Senator Warner will join the Coastal Virginia Cyber Sympoisum via video welcome. The first in his family to graduate from college, Mark Warner spent 20 years as a successful technology and business leader in Virginia before he was elected Governor of Virginia in 2001. When he left the Governor's Office in 2006, Virginia was ranked as the best state for business, the best managed state, and the best state in which to receive a public education.
Governor Warner was elected to the United States Senate in 2008, where he serves on the Banking, Budget, Finance and Intelligence committees. Senator Warner has been recognized as a national leader in fighting for our military men and women and veterans, and working to design a bipartisan, comprehensive plan to address our country's debt and deficit.

Paul is a partner at Hunton & Williams's Washington office. He is co-chair and co-founder of Hunton’s multi-disciplinary Energy Sector Security Team. Dan Stein is the Program Lead of the National Cybersecurity Education and Training Program (NCTEP) within the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity Education and Awareness Branch. NCTEP’s portfolio includes the nationally-focused Federal Virtual Training Environment and Cybersecurity Training Events (FedVTE/FedVTELive!) Program. NCTEP also oversees DHS’s partnerships with the National Security Agency on the National Centers of Academic Excellence programs and with the National Science Foundation
for the CyberCorps®: Scholarship for Service (SFS) program.
