3 Books For Fans of Bates Motel
A&E’s “Bates Motel” is a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s genre-defining film “Psycho,” and portrays how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. It’s clever. It’s dark. And it’s twisted.

Caroline Kepnes is a master at writing from the perspective of a darkly delusional protagonist, and she does it best in her unputdownable novel, YOU. Hailed as American Psycho for the digital age, YOU follows stalker Joe Goldberg as he orchestrates a series of events in hopes to get the girl of his dreams. Dare we say, you might even start to sympathize with the charmingly murderous character.
