A prayer for light from God
In the darkness of your world Lord, I need your light. When I am worried about paying for my heating; the mortgage; the food I will feed myself and my family, I need your light. When I am feeling concerned about the health and well-being of family, friends and strangers, I need your light. In the hours I am in most need I seek you and find you in the food banks; the warm spaces; the cards, emails and telephone calls I receive; the smile and friendly greeting that is unexpectedly given as I go about my day. In those moments, Lord, I find the hidden treasure of hope, peace and love that helps me through another day. Amen.

"But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knitted together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body's growth in building itself up in love".
