Pulitzer-winning poet joins Rutgers-Camden faculty

CAMDEN - Gregory Pardlo, who won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for poetry, will join the faculty of Rutgers University-Camden in September as a member of the school's masters of fine arts program in creative writing.

Pardlo, who grew up in Willingboro, is a veteran of the Marine Corps and a graduate of Rutgers-Camden.

The Brooklyn resident has accepted a tenure-track assistant professor of English position, according to Mike Sepanic, associate chancellor for external relations at Rutgers. There will be opportunities for the community to interact with him and other faculty at the newly opened Rutgers Writers House, he said.

Meanwhile, Pardlo will give a reading Thursday at Rowan College at Burlington County. He will read from his award-winning book "Digest" and other work.

South Jersey's Indiana Jones to give TED Talk

Pardlo will also be the keynote poet at the 2016 Collingswood Book Festival, to be held Saturday, Oct. 1, in the borough.
